Popular lakes of Spiti are Dhankar, Chandratal (also known as the moon lake), Suraj Tal and Sopona Lake. These lakes are pristine and beautiful. 3. Manali to Spiti

There are two ways to reach Spiti valley; one from Shimla- Kinnaur side is a longer route. The other however is from Manali. A lot of people try to do the entire route end to end. However, the Manali route is the most scenic route for road trippers. While travelling from Manali to Spiti, you pass through the Rohtang Pass which is the highest mountain pass in the Pri Panjal Range, after which you come across the Lahaul valley next onto the Kunzum pass and finally Spiti Valley. Your trip to Spiti will definitely be an experience on its own.

4. Monasteries

Spiti Valley is home to several Buddhist monasteries. There are five major ones- Key Monastery, Dhankar Monastery, Tangyud Monastery, Tabo and Kungri Monastery. Amongst these, the Key Gompa monastery is located close to the Spiti river. These monasteries have colourful and beautiful architecture. The scenic beauty of the Spiti valley combined with the tranquillity of the monasteries will help you find that inner peace and leave you spellbound. Spending time in these monasteries will give you a sense of calmness and is a great way to reflect on oneself.

Yak is only found in the high-altitude regions in the Himalayas. These animals are a major attraction of Spiti valley. Riding on these Yaks is the best part of experiencing the Himalayan trails. The yak safari on the rough terrains of the Himalayas is like an adventure and is something that you will definitely enjoy.

Amazing blog. I really enjoyed this blog about Spiti valley. Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh has been to my travel bucket list from a very long this. Let’s see when this corona pandemic ends. and I get to travel there. It will be a Road Trip. Thanks for sharing this beautiful blog. 🙂
