Re: Exploring Udaipur solo this long weekend

Hey! If you are still looking for a place to stay, you can check out Jaiwana Haveli too. It's right near the lake and their dining room is on the terrace. So you get amazing views during meals. My parents had stayed there for 2 nights during their trip in September 2014. They have lake facing rooms ...

Drive carefully as there are speed limits and you will be driving along many many AP state transport buses. The ghats are open from 3 AM to 11 PM,...

Re: Need help for a Tirupati Road trip

Hola! I have been there twice. Both times took the APTDC bus from Bangalore, which usually comes with a Darshan package. My experience for the Sheegra Darshan (Rs 300 special entry tickets) has been 2-3 hours and most people I had asked while planning had similar experiences.. Unless its some immens...

Re: Roads in Odisha, Jharkhand and Bengal

Completely agree on the road conditions being bad in the Jharkhand-West Bengal route! My dad drives between Ranchi and Bankura once a month and only comes back cribbing after it! He is hoping that there would be an airport there soon.. :P :P I think the one stretch of road that Ranchi-wasi keep show...

Re: Bangalore to Kabini

Try staying at Red Earth in Kabini. Almost everyone I know who's gone to Kabini has stayed there and posted the most amazing pics on Instagram! The Kabini River Lodge is the govt owned one and comparatively cheaper. Also take a ride in the round boats on the Kabini river. I think they are called cor...

Re: Road trip to Sikkim from Mumbai

I sent my parents on a Darjeeling-Peling-Gangtok trip a few years back. They did all the touristy stuff in Gangtok actually, like visiting the many peaceful monasteries and shopping on MG Road. Ate lots of Thukpa, Thenthuk, Momos and Tingmo, which is like a local pav. :) What they particularly loved...
