Winter Weekend in Kaas

Post by royalenfielder » Sat May 26, 2018 4:42 pm

This is an old post from 2014 (back when I was still using the Lumia 920 phone!)

While the whole of Maharashtra rushes to Kaas Plateau during monsoons, we decided to head here during winters. The tourists were substantially quiet; and the place more serene. There were less wafer packets on the meadows, and the roads emptier. The best of all, we had the misty valley views all for ourselves.

We stayed at our usual place – Nivant Resort. Tried and tested, it’s as basic and comfortable as it comes. We paid 2500 bucks for an AC room each which is nominal considering it’s location and all rooms overlooking the valley – where the whole of Satara spreads out.

Some clicks from my Lumia 920 without filters. For this trip we had our whole gang - Swapnil, Deepti, Raj, Pallavi, Sam, Jayashree, Sam, Reena, Swati and I. We should definitely do this again, maybe just after monsoons how it's meant to be done. With the Road Trippers Club, maybe!

Nice! Looking forward to the RTC drive. It's planned in September - right?
