<r>Starting this February 1st, 2018, I am starting with my second self drive road trip of my life and that too about an expected distance of 7000+ kms, which was almost unthinkable just 6 months back for me.

The road trip planned on SMT is here: https://scoutmytrip.com/1804/cooch-beha ... i-roadtrip

The anticipated route and day wise plan is as follows.... But again, these are just anticipated plans and are as accurate as the anticipated date of the next sighting of an UFO. This plan is ex-Thane to Dandeli only starting from 05th of February, 2018.

Day 1
Flag off from Thane in the early morning around 06:00 hours and drive towards Alibaug’s Varsoli Beach via NH 66. It will be a drive of 103 kms. taking roughly about 3 hours and 30 minutes.

From there we will drive further 4.3 kms. / about 20 minutes south to Alibaug Beach

From Alibaug beach we will drive to Akshi and explore Akshi, Nagaon and Karpewadi and the resorts. From Alibaug it is 7.4 Kms. South and takes about 25 minutes on the Alibaug-Revadanda road.

From there we will drive straight to Revdanda Fort, 13.4 Kms. and 35 minutes further south.

Our next stop will be Korlai Fort, another 5 kms. and 12 minutes from the last stop.

From there we will drive through Kolmandale, Rocky Beach Site, Kashid Beach, Murud Beach, Janjira Beach and reach Diveagar for our night stay.
Total Distance to be covered: 185 kms, approximately 12 hours on the road with all stops for sightseeing, meal breaks, ogling and googling.

Day 2
Will rise up early and checkout to catch the sunrise drive on the extreme coastal roads driving through Bharadkhol, Pebbles Beach, Kondvil Beach, Aravi Beach to Reach Srivardhan Beach. Roughly about 25 kms. and an hours drive, it will be a perfect stop for our breakfast, maybe at the Masala Family Restaurant of Hotel Sea Wind and enjoying the misty February morning vistas of Srivardhan Beach.

After a sumptuous breakfast, hopefully, we will keep moving towards Harihareshwar Cave View Point, 21.6 kms and 40 minutes south.

5.6 kms / 13 minutes from Harihareshwar Cave View Point, is the Bagmandle ferry terminal. From there we will cross over to Veshvi on board a ferry.

6.2 kms / 19 minutes from the Veshvi Ferry terminal is the Velas Beach, famous for its tortoise and scenic drive.

From here we will take the road less travelled, through, Sakhari, Jawale, Mandivali to reach Kelshi Sand Dunes right on the west coast, teasing the Arabian Sea to drench it. It will be a drive of 29 kms / 1 hour and 10 minutes.

From the dunes, we will keep driving through Kelshi Beach, Yakub Baba Dargah road, Chinchalwadi, Aade-Kelshi Bridge, Aade-Anjarle Road to reach Padale Beach and then to Savane Beach and finally reach Anjarle Beach- a 14 kms / 40 minute drive, where we call it a day and sip on bottle of beer in the company of the setting sun.
Total distance to be covered: 110 kms plus the ferry ride and approximately around 9-10 hours on the road with all the breaks.

Day 3
Take a break. Rise late. Freshen and awaken, drive to Goa….not yet though…but for the first stop of the day, Fort Goa in Maharashtra. 7.5 kms / 30 minutes from the point of check out.

From Fort Goa we will take the route through Harnai Fort, Harnai Beach, Karde Beach, Ladghar Beach, Kolthare Beach and reach Dhabhol Jetty. From there we will ferry across to Dhopave Jetty. Approximately a ride time of 2 hours and 10 minutes for covering this 50 kms.
Dhabhol to Dhopave Jetty ride and timings

From the Dhopave Jetty, we drive straight to Gopalgad Fort and Anjanveli Lighthouse.

This stretch will cost us 13.3 kms / 30 minutes of drive through picturesque locations.

From there, we will dive to Guhagar Beach, Palshet Beach, Karul Beach, Hedavi Beach, Narvan Beach to reach Tavasal Jetty. This last stretch will take us 1 hour and 40 minutes for covering 40 kms. We will take a ferry across Tavasal Jetty to Jaigad.

On reaching Jaigad, we shall explore the Jaigad Fort, Karhateshwar Temple, Lighthouse. It will be an affair of about 2 hours.

From there we will drive for 20 kms / 30 minutes by the beach with the setting sun and reach Malgund Beach, which will be our night stop.
Total distance: About 150 kms and 10-11 hours on the road.

Day 4
Starting the day 4 will be the 15 kms / 30 minutes mesmerizing journey through Ganapatipule to reach Aare Ware Beach. Will click pictures on the way and zip off.

We will keep driving and explore, Shirgao Fish Market, Ratnagiri Marine Fish Museum and reach the Kadelot Point. A drive of about 14 kms / 30 minutes from Aare Ware.

From there we will drive further 25 kms / 45 minutes by the west coast and reach Ganeshgule Beach.

From there we drive 27 kms / 45 minutes south to reach Vetye Beach.

After exploring the Vetye Beach, we will start for the next destination of the day, Vijaydurg. Some 65 kms / 1 hour 30 minutes, drive.

From there we will take the Vijaydurg Road and then the MH SH 4 to reach Tarkarli. It is an 80 kms / 2 hour drive. Will Check into a houseboat and never keep the glass half empty. Will wade through the backwaters and creek of Tarkarli.
Total Distance: 226 kms / 10 hours on road.

Day 5
Our first stop for the day will be Devbagh Beach, 9 kms / 25 minutes south of Tarkarli.

From there we will speed to the spooky looking Redi Fort, 35kms/1hour 20 minutes.

After that we will walk on the Bhogave and Crocodile Beach before driving towards Aravali Beach, 44 kms/1 hour drive.

Here we will bid goodbye to Maharastra for the next few days and enter Goa. Arambol will be our 1st night and the only one in Goa after driving 18 kms/40 minutes.
Total distance: About 110 kms, 7 hours on the road.

Day 6
Will drive through Mandrem, Ashwem, Pernem, Chapora Fort, Candolim, Kesarval Waterfall to reach Dandeli in Karnataka- a journey of 190 kms and about 10 hours on the road.

Day 7
No steering wheels today. Only explore Dandeli. No plans yet of what to do- just because of being spoilt by choices.

Dada @getravelled ,

The coastal route you are doing is a very scenic one although you should have expectations of a state highway from this route. Most of the route will have beaches on one side and scenic farms, villages or hills on the other side.
