Road trip movie list – Part 2

Road trip movie, travel movies

If you are wondering about the headline, that’s because you haven’t read our previous article about travel movies. So go read the 5 Bollywood Road Trip Movies that will inspire you to hit the roads.

I continue to believe that movies are a true example of art imitates life imitates art. This is especially true in case of travel movies. Ask Spain which has seen a huge surge of Indian tourists, especially people on a bonding road trip with their friends, after Zindagi na Milegi Dobara. Or Betaab Valley in Kashmir which gets it to name from the movie Betaab. I don’t think most people even remember what it was called before. I am not sure if the following travel movies have had such profound effects but they are definitely road trips that you would love to go on.

Highway (2014)

Road trip movies

IMDB

One of the most beautifully shot travel movies, it did complete justice to its title. It is not your usual road trip movie but it does take you through North India on its highways. Not only does it showcase the scenic beauty of the mountains and valleys of Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir, but also the scenery along the roads in Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab in its natural form. If you love driving on Indian highways, hit the road right now and go exploring the same roads.

Finding Fanny (2014)

IMDB

Hire A Scout

Travel movies based in Goa are usually all about the beaches and churches. This movie took #AageSeRight on that path and explored the state from the local’s point of view. There no rave parties or water skis, but beautiful sceneries and lesser-known locations. The characters of the movie go on a road trip, through the inner lanes of Goa, onto unexplored roads. If you are looking for a serene vacation in Goa, this road trip movie can totally be your inspiration.

Road, Movie (2009)

Road trip

IMDB

This is a relatively lesser-known road trip movie that has you follow Abhay Deol on a journey across the rustic terrains of Rajasthan. While the protagonist has a transformative trip and discovers the meaning of life, you can immerse yourself into the scenic beauty of the colorful state and then go plan your very own Rajasthan road trip here.

Chennai Express (2013)

movies for road trip

IMDB

From the beautiful plains of Wai in Satara to the hill towns of Munnar in Kerela, the movie is surely a visual treat. The most beautiful shot of the movie though is of the Dudhsagar Falls in all its glory. If you have been to Goa and never visited the falls, you must change that as soon as possible.

Kaal (2005)

travel movie

IMDB

Kaal may not be one of your quintessential travel movies or even a Bollywood blockbuster. I still had to squeeze it into this list because this is one of its kind and takes you on a thrilling wildlife safari through Corbett National Park. Though the fictional premise of the movie is scary, it still makes you appreciate the natural beauty and explore India’s many wildlife sanctuaries. Most wildlife sanctuaries make perfect road trip destinations. Experience it for yourself to understand how exciting it can be.

This concludes my list of every road trip movie I like. Or does it? Maybe there will be a Part Tritiya soon.
