New Delhi is the capital of India and it is a busy capital. There are quite a number of places which make for perfect weekend getaways from Delhi and to take a break from your routine. Here are a few recommended road trips from Delhi where you can experience flat straight roads or tackle the Hairpin bends in the hills and mountains nearby.

Road trip from Delhi to Garhmukteshwar

This is one of the popular road trips from Delhi. The river Ganges flows here and is the closet point for people from Delhi to have bath in the holy river. If you are lucky you can spot Dolphins in the river.

Dehradun is a hill town in the Doon Valley on the foothills of the Himalayas. It has the Ganges and Yamuna rivers flowing on either side. It is known for its beautiful and serene landscape and atmosphere. Along with the landscapes it also a number of temples.

On your way to Dehradun you can visit the tomb of Khwaja Khizr in Sonipat.
