For the adventurous spirited a short 10 min walk to the vantage point brings you to the lovely view of the waterfall. The ‘watch tour’ is a perfect spot to soak in the 360 degree aerial view. You will see the magnificent waterfall tucked between rocks and trees falling from a 100 feet height forming various tiers, creating a pool where is falls.

Tips: Wear adequate walking gear as you will cross rocky terrain with mud, gravel and sand on the walk up the vantage point. The walk up could be slippery at places.
The last 10 kms to Chunchi falls you could encounter bumpy roads.
Entry is free, swimming is prohibited and carry your own water bottles and picnic food. Leave before the sun is down.

Bannerghatta National Park – Wildlife

The main attraction for travelers is the wildlife elephant’s corridor, leopards, lions, Bengal tigers, deer, variety of birds and butterflies. It is a treat for photographers.

The trek uphill is meant for trekkers and campers who love adventure activities like rappelling, rock climbing and high rope traversing. The initial trek is easier with 200 steps leading to a temple after which it is a steep winding adrenalin pumping climb. The view and the experience on reaching the top are both enthralling.

Tips: You will not find any shops in the vicinity. Beware of monkey menace while you are night camping after a tiring trek.
Distance: Anthargange is 80 km from Bangalore (2 h) and 4 km from Kolar (10 min)
Road Trip from Bangalore to Kolar – Historical and Spiritual delight
Kolaramma and Someshwara temples are located in Kolar (also famous for Gold Mines) are frequented by devotees and tourists looking for historical places to visit near Bangalore.
The Someshwara temple is dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva (built 14th century). It has beautiful carvings on numerous pillars with a mahamandapa. It is popular for its stepped temple tank and a temple tower made of stone carved into a ‘mahadwara’ (Huge Gate).
Just 100 m away is the Kolaramma Temple (built 5th Century) belongs to the Ganga Dynasty. Kolaramma is a deity of Goddess Durga.
You will be astonished to find several intricate stone carvings and inscriptions from the 11th Century (Chola Rule) found here.

Tips: March to April are the months recommended to visit the temples when the ‘Karage Festival’ is celebrated.

Road Trip form Bangalore to Devarayanadurga – Natural Water Spring
A perfect weekend getaway and one of the places to visit near Bangalore is visited by numerous nature and trekking lovers is the picturesque Devarayanadurga.
The hill is situated at an altitude of 3940 ft with two temples Yoga Narasimha (located on top of the hill) and Bhoga Narasimha (located at the bottom of the hill) as the main attraction.
One can even drive upto the hill top to indulge in the astounding view from the peak. Devarayandurga is popularly known for its natural water springs like Namada Chilume, Ramatirtha and Dhanushtirtha. Adjoining are the statues of Rama, Sita and Lakshmana in a cave.

Tips: Plan to visit around month of Chaitra (May) when the annual Narasimha Avathara day is celebrated.
