The inaugural biking festival Ravine Bike Weekend happened on the 10th, 11th February 2017. The organizers, Ravine Hotel Panchgani, expected a turnout of around 300 bikers from different places but the actual numbers didn’t quite match up to the expectations. All said this was the first iteration of the event. And for a first time it was a real success.
They had various competitions Loudest Roar, Burnout, Best Custom Bike, Biker Babe to name a few. The music being played was chilled out and everyone was having a good time. But the bikes stole all the attention. Harley Davidsons, Kawasakis, Triumphs, you name it they were present. If you are a bike lover you would have loved being there to just look at the bikes and listening to them roar. Each VROOOOOOM from the exhaust of the bikes gave you a high.
With all the various competitions that were lined up the 3 got all the attention. The Loudest Roar, Best Custom Bike and Burnout. The sounds made by the bikes echoed throughout the Ravines in Panchgani. The competition vindicated as the bikes were really loud with the sounds reaching 140+ decibels. The Custom bikes were all jazzed up with custom tyres, custom paint job, custom rims and graphics on the bike and more. Some bikes looked really good, well all the bikes looked really good. And the Burnout event had the whole arena covered in the smoke of the burning tyres. The smell of burning rubber filled the arena. 2 bikes did manage to blow up their tyres. The events got the crowd all pumped up. Loud cheers supporting the bikers whistling etc to support their fellow bikers.
The bikers also set off to a track nearby for a racing event. All the bikers lined up at the Ravine Hotel gate and revving up their engines eager to go and race. Once flagged off the bikes followed each other in a neat line on the way to the race track where they raced each other to win the competition.
The Ride on the second day of the event
All in all the bike weekend was successful start and it’ll only improve in the years to come. The hospitality of the organizers of the event from Ravine Hotel was really good making it an even better experience. We would like to thank Ravine Hotel for having us as the travel partner for the Ravine Bike Weekend and wish them All the Best for next year’s biking weekend.
