Age is just a number and to prove this, the Golden Gang set some major travel goals for everyone in the last week of March. A golden group of 7 people, older in experience but younger at heart than most of us, set out on a road trip from Amritsar to Dalhousie. What gives us utmost happiness is the fact that they chose us to plan their road trip for them. To travel with senior citizens is something that not many people are confident about as most of them are concerned about health issues, changing climate, road conditions etc. But when you have a group that wants to travel and make more memories per kilometre, you can’t deny them that happiness!
Road trip with the Golden Gang : The trip that was
Getting Started
We considered their preferences and chalked out a comfortable itinerary for their trip. They all met at Amritsar airport and proceeded to Dalhousie the same day (a 200km drive). On reaching the same evening, they could take time off from the journey, to enjoy a good meal and unwind to prepare for the next day. The hotel had great live music, which is a mood lifter for anyone after a drive of 5 hours.
After a good nights sleep, the following day they all left for Khajjar. It is popularly known as the “Mini Switzerland” of India, owing to its beautiful landscape. They have a lot of fun activities to do there like Zorbing, horse riding etc. Apart from these activities, the place itself makes for a natural backdrop for some good pictures.
However, Day 3 of the Golden Gang road trip was all about visiting some of the popular places in Dalhousie. Jandhrighat Palace, Bara Pathar, Panjphulla, Subhash chowk, old churches etc. A day full of touristy things definitely calls for some “pet puja”. Cafe Dalhousie is known for its sweet delicacies like gulab jamun, which is unmissable if you’re there.
As lovely a treat Dalhousie was to our Golden Gang, the picture above was their last breakfast there before they got back to their start point, Amritsar. A long drive awaited them, so a good meal was the need of the hour!
Golden Gang at the Golden Temple
While leaving Dalhousie, with its great weather and experiences would’ve been a little disheartening; arriving at the beautiful city of Amritsar gave them more reasons to be happy. To begin with, if you don’t indulge in some kulcha channe and a big glass of lassi, you haven’t seen anything of Amritsar yet!
From visiting the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, Durgiana temple to ending on a patriotic note at the Attari Wagah border, they managed it all. Amritsar has so much to see that one always revisits this beautiful place more than once.
While they could finish with all the sight seeing, we had a little more planned for the ladies! No trip is complete without some amount of shopping; whether it means buying souvenirs or just plain shopping, you package memories in some form or another. We offered suggestions on where to buy the famous Phulkari, jutti & more for our lovely ladies and well when the women are happy, the men are happier!
A happy customer= A happy client right? So here it from Mr. Deepak Amembal himself as he spoke for all of them “Very professional set up, ready to customise travel the way we would love it to make our holiday comfortable . We traveled to Kashmir, Dalhousie and Amritsar with them and thanks to them, have a lot of great memories!”
Like them, you can also create new and life changing experiences for your family by planning a road trip with us. As happy as we are to plan it for you, happier will you be to embark on a journey.

Hi,
I hope you are doing well. I went through the different blogs and was impressed by the kind of work you have done. Especially ROAD TRIP WITH THE GOLDEN GANG | THE SENIOR CITIZEN EDITION blog was neat. Indeed a great blog. I like how you described the seniors in the group as the Golden Gang. The write-up is marvelous and my mouth watered when I saw the picture of Kulcha channa properly caramelized and a big chunk of butter with that too. Loved it!
